What is the best way to learn Spanish without living in a Spanish speaking country?

I am learning Spanish by listening to tapes in my car, using programs on the computer, but none of them give me the “real world” conversation or interaction practice that I am looking for.

I already know that the best way is to live in a Spanish speaking country to learn it, but was hoping for other solutions as I can not do this.
Does anyone know a good way acquire practice through interaction, whether it be with live people or some kind of software?

Is there a Spanish speaking church near you? That would be a good option.
The real world conversationinteraction practice.
My mom learned english by watching tv programs in spanish on the real world conversationinteraction practice.
Why has nobody suggested this?
Make friends with a Spanish speaking person. How can you get more real world than that?
Go to a university and find a student who wants to learn English. You can trade lessons. Or find workers or ANYONE and just spend time with them talking to them and learning about where they are from. Show them your textbooks.
There are many many people who would love to do that, and you cannot get any more real world than that.

You will learn not only speaking but writing and grammar. It is a useful resource. Also you can always volunteer/work at places with a heavy spanish speaking population. This will give you a free but similar experience to being in a spanish speaking country
